Technology, a driving force throughout
Allegheny Ludlum, is coordinated from a modern 139,000
square foot Technical & Commercial Center (TCC). Approximately one-third of
the engineers, technicians and other salaried members of
the department are located at the TCC, the
remainder being at plant sites, assuring rapid transfer
of information between R&D and manufacturing.
The Technical & Commercial Center, one of the
largest in the industry, is headquarters for all process
and product development programs and has an extensive
range of sophisticated analytical equipment and pilot
operations, including melting and rolling. It is also the site of
the Allegheny Ludlum Sheet/Strip/Specialty Titanium & High Tech Alloy Commercial Business Units
as well as Procurement and Mechanical Testing; the latter 2 areas were recent additions in Q3 & Q4
of 2006 respectively.
